# Quick Start

Get from sign-up to your first SEO analysis in minutes.

## 1. Create an Account

Register with your email and password. You'll need to verify your email before accessing the app.

## 2. Create a Site

After logging in, you'll be prompted to create your first site. Enter:

- **Name** — a display name (e.g., "My Blog")
- **Domain** — your website domain (e.g., `example.com`)

You can create up to 3 sites on the free tier.

## 3. Connect Google Search Console

On the onboarding page, click **Connect Google Search Console**. You'll be redirected to Google's consent screen. Grant read-only access to your Search Console data, and you'll be returned to RankWiz.

Once connected, RankWiz automatically imports 90 days of historical search data. This happens in the background and may take a few minutes.

> GSC data lags 2-3 days behind real-time. This is a Google limitation, not a RankWiz issue.

## 4. Install the WordPress Plugin

Download the RankWiz AI plugin and install it on your WordPress site:

1. Upload the `rankwiz-ai` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`
2. Activate the plugin in WordPress **Plugins** menu
3. Go to **Settings > RankWiz AI** in WordPress

## 5. Connect WordPress

Back in RankWiz, on the onboarding page:

1. Click **Connect WordPress** and enter your WordPress site URL
2. Copy the **setup token** that appears
3. Paste the token into the RankWiz AI plugin settings in WordPress and save
4. Return to RankWiz and click **Verify Connection**

When both connections show green status, click **Proceed to Analysis**.

## 6. Run Your First Analysis

On the Analysis page:

1. Select a time window — choose a "before" and "after" period to compare (e.g., last 30 days vs. prior 30 days)
2. Click **Run Analysis**
3. Wait for the analysis to complete (typically a few minutes; the page updates automatically)

You'll see:

- **Metrics overview** — clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position with change percentages
- **Winners** — pages with significant traffic gains
- **Losers** — pages with significant traffic losses
- **Segment breakdown** — changes by device, country, and search type

## 7. Review Recommendations

Navigate to the **Recommendations** page to see actionable suggestions based on your analysis. Each recommendation includes an impact score, confidence level, and supporting evidence.

## 8. Generate AI Content Drafts (Optional)

To use AI-powered content rewriting:

1. Go to **Settings > AI** and add your OpenAI API key
2. Click **Test Key** to validate it
3. Return to the Recommendations page and click **Generate Draft** on any content rewrite recommendation

You pay OpenAI directly for API usage. RankWiz does not charge for AI features.
